On Saturday, Sept. 23, Iowa state parks will host Statewide Volunteer Day and we invite you to lend a hand. Nearly 20 parks and forests will be hosting events that include picking up litter, painting shelters, working on trails, and more.
From 9:00 a.m.-Noon, volunteers at Lake Macbride will meet at the South shop near the primitive campground (3525 Hwy. 382, Solon) to prune back the edges of the ¼-mile Interpretive Trail. Volunteers should wear old clothes and bring sturdy gloves and loppers or pruners if they have them, along with a water bottle.
