The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) logged 193 hours and 22 minutes in Solon during the month of August according to the monthly Town Time report.
The JCSO provides law enforcement patrol service to the city of Solon on a contracted basis with 176 hours (and ten minutes) allocated for the month of August. 174 hours and 14 minutes were spent on patrol, almost five hours went to public relations, three hours and 55 minutes were spent on criminal investigation, two hours and 23 minutes were spent assisting the Solon Fire Department and Johnson County Ambulance Service on medical calls, and one hour and 44 minutes were spent monitoring traffic with radar. Deputies also spent one hour and 18 minutes on accident investigations, one hour and 15 minutes on animal-related calls for service. Civil matters, domestic investigation, door checks, motorist assists, time on foot, and a special assignment rounded out the time spent.
JCSO deputies conducted 41 traffic stops, responded to 16 medical emergencies, and 14 9-1-1 hang-ups for the top-three calls for service last month out of 148 total.
A new substation for the JCSO, located in the former city hall/library at 223 South Iowa St. should be opened in the near future.
