Our trips are designed to keep folks moving, socialized, and entertained!
Senior Dining
Friday, August 18 is National “Just Because” Day. Wear something unusual, “Just because you can!”
Movie and a Meal (M&M)— “Champions” Friday, Sept. 29 at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Arrive at 11:00, dine at 11:30. Meal cost $4.00.
Woody Harrelson stars as a former basketball coach who is ordered by the court to manage a team of players with intellectual difficulties. They go farther than he ever imagined!
Restaurant Runs
19 Solon seniors had lunch at the new SHUEY’S Eatery in Shueyville, which was recently rebuilt after their old structure was destroyed in a fire. Only opened for a few weeks, their new building is much larger with a bar area and ample restaurant area seating. We were attended to by Shannon; it takes skill and memory to care for this many, but Shannon did a super job, efficiently taking our drink and food orders, placing the food correctly as it arrived in front of all 19.
Now the food is superior in flavor and presentation; I had the breaded tenderloin – HUGE, tender with the best quality fries. They list a large quantity of burgers, sandwiches, sides and drinks. But they do not offer coffee or soup.
Ample parking, a great tavern atmosphere, it is surely a place to bring friends – a place to return with seniors.
Thursday, Sept. 8 – That Place, Oxford – personal cars, noon dining.
Friday, Sept. 22 – Bluff Lake Fish Restaurant – Lisbon Auto Rental or personal cars, cost TBA.
