Library Events
Dust off your Scrabble skills, prepare for a tough game of Cribbage or try something new! Game Night is Thursday, August 31 at 6:30 p.m. This monthly evening is a great opportunity to enjoy stretching your brain with games and to squeeze in some socializing. Join us!
September’s Storytime theme is magical creatures! Join us Tuesday mornings at 10:30 for songs, books, and games all about magical creatures. We also have our monthly Family Storytime Saturday, September 9 at 10:30 a.m.
Your Space for Teens begins Tuesday, September 5. Each Tuesday while school is in session, students in 6th-12th grades can enjoy games, snacks, and a space to de-stress at the Library from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
BAM POW Activities begin Thursday, September 7 for students in 1st through 8th grades.
From 1:45-2:45 p.m., we’re making our own catapult! We look forward to seeing the creativity!
Saturday, September 9 will be the last outdoor Fun For All Night of the season. Our friends at the Recreation Dept. will have fun games set up at 6:30 p.m., enjoy some outdoor playtime with stomp rockets, sidewalk chalk, giant Jenga, and more! We’ll then show the movie Ferdinand [PG] at 7:30 p.m. on our giant inflatable movie screen with state-of-the-art projector and sound system. Bring a lawn chair, enjoy some fresh popcorn and the movie.
This month’s DIY Night participants are making a crayon wreath Tuesday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m. These back-to-school themed wreaths are perfect for brightening up your door or to give as teacher gifts. Space is limited, register online or at the Library to save your spot!
Cookbook Club is all about pastries in September! Pastries are small buns made using a stiff dough enriched with fat. Some dishes, such as pies, are made of a pastry casing that covers or completely contains a filling of various sweet or savory ingredients. Check out a pastry cookbook, try a recipe or two, and bring it to share on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m.
The Solon Book Club is reading The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. This staff favorite is sure to be a great discussion, as it is an enchanting love story, masterfully told, about the profound experience of discovering an unlikely family in an unexpected place – and realizing that family is yours. Pick up a copy of the book and join us at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 19 to discuss.

Regular Library hours are Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed Sundays.
The Library will be closed on Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day. Have a great holiday weekend!
