Find Your Voice with the summer reading program at the Library. The Summer Reading Program is for everyone! We have programs for every reader, from babies to kids to teens and adults. Slips can be turned in anytime during the summer starting June 1 and the final deadline is Monday, July 31. Pick up a program brochure, reading logs, and calendar to plan your summer fun!

It’s summer picnic time! Cookbook Club is Saturday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. Join us on the Library patio and share picnic dishes with us. Prepare a favorite or try something new for our Cookbook Club picnic, a few fun cookbooks are available with picnic ideas if you need inspiration.
This month the Solon Book Club will meet on Tuesday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss The Other Einstein by Marie Benedict. It’s the story of Einstein’s wife, a brilliant physicist in her own right, whose contribution to the special theory of relativity is hotly debated and may have been inspired by her own profound and very personal insight. Stop by the Library to pick up a copy of the book and join us in the meeting room to discuss.
Have you heard about light painting photography? Photographers create photos by setting long exposure times on a camera and moving light sources to create a paint-like effect. Register to join us on Thursday, June 22 at 6:30 p.m. Light painting photography is for adults and young adults, ages 16+ with registration available on our website calendar or in the library.
Join us on the Library patio Saturday, June 24 at 10:30 a.m. to hear from the Solon Volunteer Fire Department about summer fire safety and see a fire truck (or two) up close!
Teens (incoming 6th-12th graders) can enjoy Teen Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. with special activities each week, just for teens! Teen Tuesdays will run from June 6 through July 25, no program on July 4.
Kids Connect (incoming 1st-5th graders) is each Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Weekly kids activities that encourage kids to find their artistic voice, their scientific voice, their playful voice. Kids Connect will run June 8 through July 27, no program on July 6.
Library Access
Regular Library hours are Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed Sundays.
The Library is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23 to allow time for staff in-service.
