AMES — Nearly 4,600 graduates received degrees from Iowa State University this spring. Graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremonies were held May 11-13 at Hilton Coliseum.
Graduates from Solon were Alexis Ashton (Bachelor of Science, Industrial Engineering and Master of Business, Business Administration), Clayton Gerdin (Bachelor of Science, Management, Cum Laude), Jerrod Hilton (Bachelor of Science, Management), Rylee Johnson (Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design, Magna Cum Laude), Matthew Shafer (Bachelor of Science, Biology, Honors Program Member and Summa Cum Laude), and Caroline Sherman (Bachelor of Science, Environmental Science (AGLS), Cum Laude).
Swisher/Shueyville graduates were Luke Huedepohl (Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering), Nathanial Harder (Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude), Isaac Mattes (Bachelor of Science, Agricultural Studies), and Rachel Shelangoski (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Cum Laude).
Ely’s Blair Bell also graduated (Bachelor of Science, Kinesiology and Health, Summa Cum Laude).
Alumna Trudy Huskamp Peterson, the first woman archivist of the United States; and Temple Grandin, Distinguished Professor of animal sciences at Colorado State University, animal welfare pioneer and activist for people with autism, received honorary degrees during the undergraduate ceremonies.
