DAVENPORT — Solon’s varsity boys soccer season came to an end Monday, May 22 at Assumption Catholic in Davenport as the No. 1 seeded Knights won a Class 2A Substate No. 5 second round match 8-0.
The Spartans, seeded fourth, ended 2023 at 6-10 overall and 2-7 in the WaMaC East.
The Knights improved to 14-1 overall and 7-1 in the Mississippi Athletic Conference.
Solon won their first round match Monday, May 15 at home against Mount Pleasant 2-1 with goals by Keegan Conway and Eli Freerks, and seven saves by Zander Stookey.
The program loses seniors Lewis Sutton, Garret Swan, Nate Shafer, Ian Ressler, Brody Cash, and Zeb Kleinsmith.
Assumption shut out No.3 Burlington Notre Dame 5-0 to advance to the State Tournament.
