SOLON — The varsity boys dropped to 5-9 overall (1-7 in the WaMaC East) after falling to Center Point-Urbana and Davenport North as the regular season wrapped up ahead of the start of postseason play Monday, May 15.

The Stormin’ Pointer scored with 5:20 to go in the first half and followed with a penalty kick four minutes into the second half. Keegan Conway took three shots with one shot on goal each for Eli Freerks and Zeb Kleinsmith. Zander Stookey made four saves in the contest.

Beckman Catholic 1
The Spartans traveled to Dyersville Thursday, May 11 for a non-conference match against the Beckman Catholic Blazers. Conway, Freerks, and Kleinsmith scored in the contest as Solon put up 25 shots including eight from Freerks, seven from Kleinsmith, and five from Conway. Stookey made one save on the night.
Davenport North 3, Solon 2
The regular season ended on the road Friday, May 12 at Davenport North in a Class 2A vs. 3A non-conference match. Conway was credited with one goal in the contest with three shots on goal. Lewis Sutton, Bryan Petrie, and Nate Shafer had one shot on goal apiece with two shots by Freerks.
