SOLON — Six wins were posted by Solon in the Spartan Junior High Girls Invitational Tuesday, April 11: Jerzey Haluska (100 dash, 14.07), Jillian Janssen (800-meter run, 2:43.23), Piper Johnson (discus, 69-08), Avery Kellen (shot put, 31-08), the 4×100-meter shuttle hurdle relay (1:23.62), and the 4×800 (11:22.91).
Second place went to Avery Kellen in the 100-meter dash (14.07) and Madelyn Elkins in the 200-meter hurdles (25.10). Haluska, Janssen, and Keegan Kleppe were third in the 200 dash (29.16), 400 dash (1:07.50), and 100-meter hurdles (18.63). Kleppe was fourth in the 200 hurdles (26.40) while Quinn Armentrout was fourth in the 200 dash (30.21).
Fifth place finishes went to Kalynn Timmons (200 dash, 30.58) and Kendall Werner (100 hurdles, 19.95), sixth went to Briley Simon (100 dash, 14.83), Emersyn Bucheit (800-meter run, 2:54.54), and Livya Nelson (1500-meter run, 6:09.31), and Reese Hahn (200 dash, 31.75), Ava Rolwes (1500 run, 6:09.54), and Ava Hohn (100 hurdles, 20.82) were awarded seventh place. Ellie Durr took eighth in the 400-meter dash (1:11.25), Tess Richards (200 dash, 32.82), Kinley Mai (1500 run, 6:25.21), and Harper Nicholson (100 hurdles, 21.18) were ninth, and Addison Detra (400 dash, 1:12.43), Brynn Haugland (800 run, 3:12.00), and Madelyn McCandless (100 hurdles, 21.21) were tenth.
Relays
The 4×100 and 4×400-meter relay crews finished second in 58.96 and 4:40.35 while the 800-meter sprint medley relay took third (2:12.25), and the 4×200 was fourth in 2:08.16.
Field events
Second place went to Haluska in the long jump (15-05), Tess Richards in the discus (66-07), and Maddyn Gates in the shot put (31-01). Johnson was third in the shot put with a 28-6-1/2 throw. Fourth place went to Jovie Moel in the shot (26-04.50) and Quinn Armentrout in the high jump (4-06). Emma Spengler was fifth in the high jump (4-04). Seventh place finishes went to Kayanna Schmidt in the long jump (13-08) and Hayden Greene in the shot put (23-02). Kalynn Timmons and Haiden Wolfe were eighth in the long jump (13-06) and shot put (22-09.50), Peyton Galloway and Janssen were ninth in the high jump (4-04) and long jump (13-05).
