MOUNT VERNON — The Lady Spartans opened a three-match week with a road win over rival Mount Vernon before falling at home to Marion, and losing to Independence (Indee) on the Mustangs’ pitch.
Solon 2, Mount Vernon 0
Solon scored in both halves of their varsity meeting Tuesday, April 11 for the win, which improved their record to 3-0 while dropping the Mustangs to 0-2.
Marion 1, Solon 0
The Marion Wolves visited Thursday, April 13 and took the sudden death win in the second overtime period to improve to 3-0 while handing Solon their first loss of the season.
Independence 3, Solon 0
The Lady Spartans travelled to Lyle Leinbaugh Field in Independence Thursday, April 15 for a match originally set for Thursday, April 6. The Mustangs scored one goal in the first half, and two in the second.
