Get together with friends and enjoy Game Night! Thursday, March 30th at 6:30 p.m. adults (16+) enjoy Scrabble, Cribbage, and other fun games. It’s a great time to get out of the house, socialize, and enjoy friendly competition at the Library.
Let’s get our hands dirty! We’re starting seeds for our summer gardens on Tuesday, April 4th at 6 p.m. on the Library patio. We’ll learn what types of seeds work well to start indoors, when to start them, and how.
Join us Tuesday mornings at 10:30 for Storytime! We’ll share songs, books, and games with friends and caregivers. Our April theme is all about vehicles and things that go! Each week we’re focusing on specific types of vehicles and keep the stories fresh. We also continue to share Digital Storytime with you, anytime on your favorite device! In April we’re celebrating Fun For All Night on Saturday, April 15th (moved due to Easter weekend) with gym games at 6 p.m. and Peter Rabbit 2 in the auditorium at 7 p.m. Join us at the Solon Community Center for this free night of fun for everyone!
Fiber artists and enthusiasts enjoy KNIT-LIT, a knitting themed book club! Join us on Wednesday, April 5th at 6:30 p.m. as we work on projects, show off our latest work, and discuss Knitlandia: A Knitter Sees the World by Clara Parkes. “Building on the success of The Yarn Whisperer, Parkes’s rich personal essays invite readers and devoted crafters on excursions to be savored, from a guide who quickly comes to feel like a trusted confidante. In Knitlandia, she takes readers along on 17 of her most memorable journeys across the globe over the last 15 years, with stories spanning from the fjords of Iceland to a cozy yarn shop in Paris’s 13th arrondissement.” Pick up a copy of the book and join the discussion.
We’re thinking of spring and the cheer of flowers at April’s DIY Night! Registered participants will make flower pens on Tuesday, April 11th at 6:30 p.m. These decorative pens are fun to use, look fun on your desk, and help keep others from walking away with your pen. Register on our website calendar, or at the Library to join us.
The Friends of the Library will host the annual Solon Area Garage Sales, Friday, June 2nd and Saturday, June 3rd. Registration forms will be available at the Library and on our website beginning Monday, April 10th and must be turned in by Monday, May 22nd. Please note, the registration process is completed via email with the Friends of the Library while payments are dropped off at the Library during regular hours.
Save the date! History of Ordinary Things: Powder, Lipstick, and Perfume on Tuesday, May 2nd at Noon. Doris Montag shares her many collections using artifacts, history, and stories to create enjoyable moments reminiscing days gone by. Doris, a free-lance curator of collections of ordinary things, is a homespun humorist who narrates the collection’s history while entertaining listeners with her own stories.

Regular Library hours are Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays.

Devotion. The inspirational true story of Jesse Brown, the first Black aviator in U.S. Navy history, and his enduring friendship with fellow fighter pilot Tom Hudner.
