On November 2, 2022, at approximately 5:47 p.m., Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of multiple gunshots being fired at an occupied RV on Hickory Hollow Road NE in rural Solon.
One of the rounds penetrated the RV and nearly struck the occupant. The investigation revealed this was a targeted shooting. Two suspects travelled from Marion to rural Solon where it was believed a victim and infant child were located.
While driving by the RV on Hickory Hollow, one suspect instructed another occupant of the vehicle to fire four shots from a handgun into the RV. The suspect ultimately fired five rounds, striking the RV three times. The intended target and infant were not present at the time of the shooting.
The suspect, Bryant Wallace, was wearing a Department of Corrections GPS ankle monitor which placed him in the area at the time of the shooting. On March 14, 2023, the following individual was arrested and face charges as a result of the investigation: • Bryant M. Wallace, 19, Marion – Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (C Felony), Control of Firearm/Offensive Weapon by Felon (D Felony) On March 28, 2023, the following individual was arrested and face charges as a result of the investigation: • 17-year-old male juvenile – Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (C Felony), Minor Armed with Dangerous Weapon (Serious Misdemeanor).
The 6th Judicial District Department of Corrections, Marion Police Department, Vinton Police Department, Joint Forensic Analysis Cyber Team, and Johnson County Attorney’s Office assisted with this investigation.
