SOLON — Solon Firefighter Tom Trump was the recipient of two awards during the Solon Fire Department Spouse Appreciation and Award Night recently.
Johnson County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Deputy Director Travis Beckman presented Trump with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for his volunteer service hours. The award is presented in recognition of those volunteering over 4,000 hours of service.
Beckman also presented Trump with his COVID-19 Civilian Award and medal from the Surgeon General and the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) for his work in Washington, DC at the Secretary’s Operations Center and Federal Warehouse throughout the pandemic.
Trump has been an active volunteer for 42 days and has served 387 days in Washington, DC over the last 2-1/2 years (and counting).
In addition to serving with the Solon Fire Department, Trump is a member of the National Disaster Medical System’s (NDMS) Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) and Logistics Response Assistance Team (LRAT) system.
