GRINNELL — The short indoor track and field season continued Saturday, March 18 with the WaMaC Indoor in Grinnell. Team scores are not kept at the indoor meets but they provide competition and a way to measure a team’s progress before the outdoor season starts.
Brayden Moore, Blake Timmons, Austin Knight, and Jeremy Bachus won the 4×200-meter relay in 1:33.52 for Solon’s only victory. Timmons took second place in the 60 and 200-meter dashes in 7.24 and 23.31 seconds while Moore, Milo Ashbacker, Bachus, and Brick Kabela were second in the 1600-meter distance medley relay in 3:52.91, and Michael Yeomans was second in the 800-meter run in 2:07.45.
Nash Kotar took third in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.10 seconds and was fifth in the long jump with a 19-1 ½ effort. Moore was fourth in the 60-meter dash in 7.37 seconds while Yeomans, Grant Bumsted, Wyatt Applegarth, and Colin Bumsted were fourth in the 4×800 in 9:01.33.
Kabela and Adam Smith rounded out the top-five finishers with a fifth place showing in the shot put for Smith (45-3) and fifth place finish in the 1,600-meter run for Kabela (4:48.98).
