If you could make a difference in Solon, what would you do and how would you do it?
I would encourage the community not to judge and to look for the good qualities of those they meet. This can be accomplished by each of us truly looking for worth and not gossiping.
Something not very many people know about you — I am wicked good at roller blading. I have had three art show displays and another one planned this spring: Maquoketa Art Experience March 1 – April 30.
The best thing about the SCSD — It’s really good because they encourage you to try things and you have the ability and support to be in any activity at Solon.
Name someone that you have great respect for in our community and why — My Grandpa, Jim Shymansky, because he has worked hard for all he has and continues to give back to every community he is part of with a generous heart. He is deeply devoted to his family and always supports them.
Pet peeve — I hate when people rub their dry hands together. The sound makes me cringe.
Favorite elementary moment — At my old school, I revolutionized the idea of grass forts and that entailed getting a bunch of mowed grass and creating an outlying of a building and I got into tons of fights because of thievery of grass from one fort to another.
Favorite Spotlight supporter — Mindy Tearse, she is a band mom and she always helps us at competitions and assists with things we need.
Favorite TV show — Daredevil
Favorite restaurant — Thai Spice
Favorite fast food — Chick-fil-a
Favorite sport — Soccer
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
Continuing to pursue my passion for the arts, having a family, and maybe living in a house my parents built.
