Students that wish to apply for a GFWC scholarship are reminded that applications must be postmarked by February 1. Several scholarships are being awarded to eligible graduating Iowa seniors attending an Iowa college or vocational program. Scholarships are available for 2 year and 4-year study and are for $500 to $1000. Two additional $1000 scholarships will be awarded for graduating seniors that are planning to major in music.
In addition, multiple music campships will be awarded to students that have completed at least 7th grade. These are awards of up to $400 that can be used toward attendance at music camps this summer. It can be for either band or vocal study. Our community has had many past scholarship and campship winners.
These opportunities are available thru donations made to GFWC/Iowa. GFWC stands for General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Please check with your school guidance counselor for a scholarship application, or your school’s music teacher for a campship application.
