The Winter Library Challenge continues in January! We challenge you to participate in activities and discover new materials to check out at the Library with secret codes will be provided at each program and around the Library. Turn in your completed slips at the Library by January 31 to pick a small prize and enter to win a grand prize. Challenge yourself and win this WIN-ter!
Kick off the New Year with Youth Services Librarian Lily and Storytime! Join us Tuesday mornings at 10:30 and we’ll share songs, books, and games with friends and caregivers. January’s stories are all about movement, how we move, how animals move, how a city moves, and more. Following Storytime, grab a take and make activity for more fun at home.
Join us for Noon Year’s Eve! On Saturday, December 31, we’re celebrating the New Year with a special Noon Year’s Eve Party! The fun and games start at 11:30 a.m. with a balloon drop at the stroke of Noon with more time for activities after the balloon drop. This kid friendly celebration is sure to be fun for the whole family!
Fiber artists, hobbyists, and curious parties are invited to join us for KNIT-LIT, a knitting and fiber arts themed book club. Each month we meet to work on various fiber projects as we chat about a monthly read. Pick up a copy of this month’s book, Kneetled to Death by Maggie Sefton, and join us on Wednesday, January 4 at 6:30 p.m.
Our monthly DIY Night is a night of learning, creating, and meeting new friends! Each month participants learn a new skill or technique. In January we’re learning macrame and creating plant hangers. Register to join us on Tuesday, January 10, at 6:30 p.m. For adults and young adults, 16+.
January’s Family Fun Night will take place Saturday, January 14 at the Solon Community Center. We’ll begin with gym games at 6:00 p.m. and move to the auditorium at 7:00 p.m. for the movie, DC League of Super Pets [PG] and popcorn. You can’t beat a free night of family fun!
Trivia Night is back! Join us in-person on Friday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m. as teams compete to win bragging rights (and a prize) in this general knowledge trivia. As we move back to in-person, please note there is a limit of six members per team and space is limited! Registration opens on January 3 online, over the phone, or in-person.
Library Access
Regular Library hours are Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed Sundays.
The Library will be closed on Monday, January 2 in observance of the New Year. We will reopen as regularly scheduled on Tuesday, January 3rd from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Happy New Year!
Looking ahead to Friday, January 13, the Library will be closed for Staff In-Service. Staff will be led by our Southeast District Consultant from the State Library as we continue to work on objectives for the Library’s strategic plan.
