Solon Senior Dining hosted 70 seniors who dined in Friday, December 16 at the Solon Methodist Church Fellowship Hall for a Thanksgiving/Christmas meal sponsored by the Solon Senior Advocates, Solon Senior Support and Senior Dining.
Deliveries were also made to 21 seniors bringing the total of meals prepared by Sam’s Main Street Market to 90 meals that consisted of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, dinner buns, and cranberry relish. Pumpkin pies by Costco with a dollop of whipping cream rounded out the meal.
A crew of dedicated volunteers plated the items, others delivered to each senior seated at one of the nine highly decorated tables. All those dining-in received a ticket stub and numbers were read providing each winner a selection from one of the many Santa old-world figures plus numerous other donated door prizes to commemorate the day.
