WILLIAMSBURG — The Lady Spartans took on Prairie, Cedar Rapids and Williamsburg in a double dual meet Thursday, Dec. 8 in Williamsburg falling 40-36 to the Prairie Hawks.
McKenna Rogers (105 pounds) pinned Prairie’s Myah Rausch in 5:01, Kara VeDepo (110) pinned Alix Zahn in 4:27, Mik Langenberg (130) pinned the Prairie Hawks’ Lily Gearheart in 1:55, and Addison Burden (145) won by fall over Madison Childers in 3:23 while Adlie Miller (235) only needed 35 seconds to pin Prairie’s Aliya Phillies.
Solon and Williamsburg double forfeited their dual for a 0-0 score but competed in 14 extra (no points) matches. Rogers (110 pounds) pinned Anya Rivera in 40 seconds, Kate Richards (115) pinned Hayden Wade in 4:51, Abby Gregory (115) pinned Wade in 3:24, and Langenberg (125) won an 8-6 decision over Ava Garcia.
The ladies travel to Center Point-Urbana Thursday, Dec. 15 for a double dual with the Stormin’ Pointers and Independence Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. and will compete in Wilton’s tournament Saturday, Dec. 17 starting at 9:30 a.m. Marion and South Tama will visit in the Lady Spartans’ first home dual meet Thursday, Jan. 5.
