WATERLOO — Iowa City High School’s 2022-23 bowling season opened Tuesday, Nov. 22 at Maple Lanes in Waterloo as the Little Hawks took on the Cedar Falls Tigers.
City High’s varsity boys fell 2,645-3,037.
Solon’s Carson Reid, Trendon Walker, and Brady Evers are bowling with the Little Hawks this season.
Reid bowled a near-perfect game, said coach Dan Christensen, with 279 and 206 for a total of 485. Walker bowled 136 and 171 for 307.
Friday, Dec. 2, the Little Hawks battled Cedar Rapids Jefferson with the varsity J-Hawks winning 2,763 to City’s 2,580. Walker bowled 195 and 255 for a 450 total with Reid putting up 162 and 168 for 330.
The JV Little Hawks won 2,136 to 1,756 with Evers bowling 105 and 179 for 284.
City High travels to Lancer Lanes (3203 6th St. SW) in Cedar Rapids Thursday, Dec. 8 to face Prairie High School at 3:00 p.m. and host Xavier Catholic Friday, Dec. 16 at Colonial Lanes (2253 Old Hwy. 218 S.) in Iowa City at 3:15 p.m. The Little Hawks return to Lancer Lanes Saturday, Dec. 17 for a 1:00 p.m. tournament.
