The City of Solon is now accepting applications for membership on the Library Board of Trustees for a county representative who resides in unincorporated Johnson County to serve for a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2023. The Solon Public Library Board of Trustees is a seven-member advisory board whose primary roles include advocating for the library in the community, planning for the future of the library, monitoring and evaluating the overall effectiveness of the library, setting library policies, and hiring and evaluating the library director. The Library Board of Trustees meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the Solon Public Library, 320 W. Main Street.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the board you may submit an application to the City Office at 101 N Iowa Street, Solon, IA. The application can be found on the City’s website at www.solon-iowa.com. The City of Solon will review all applications and make appointments based on qualifications and on the State of Iowa’s Gender Balance laws.
