SOLON — Solon’s freshmen fell 53-13 to Mount Vernon’s frosh-soph team Friday, Sept. 2 at home.
The Mustangs were ahead 34-7 at halftime.
Kyler Jensen scored for Solon on a six-yard scamper in the third to make it 34-13 with 5:52 left in the quarter. Mount Vernon scored three times in the second half.
The freshmen travel to Williamsburg Friday, Sept. 9 for a 5:00 p.m. game against the Raiders and host Union at 6:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19. Pleasant Valley visits at 6:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, Washington’s Demons threaten at 5:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, and Solon travels to Fairfield on Friday, October 7 with a 5:00 p.m. start. Grinnell visits on Friday, October 14 at 5:00 p.m. and the season ends Friday, October 21 on the road at Keokuk with a 5:00 p.m. game time.
