Mary Katherine Nearad
Mary Katherine Nearad, 81, of Solon, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, in her home. Visitation was held Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon. A celebration of life service was held Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Brosh Chapel. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Oakland Cemetery.
Mary was born Jan. 22, 1940, in Kansas, the daughter of Theodore and Katherine (Dunn) Schlote. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Nearad July 27, 1956, in Coralville. Mary worked at Victor Metal and Thomas and Betts until her retirement, later worked part-time at the Solon Care Center. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, tending to her flowers, going dancing with Wilbur and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Wilbur; her children, Duane Nearad and Donna (Robert) Rohret, both of Solon; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ted (Lynn) Schlote and Steve (Sandy) Schlote and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, John and Dennis Schlote.
