SOLON — The Varsity Spartans shelled Central DeWitt 14-3 Tuesday, May 24 at home. Solon’s eight hits came from Kinnick Pusteoska (three with a home run and six RBIs), Tyson Wheeler (two), Brett White, Gehrig Turner, and Jacob Timmons.
Vince Steinbrech took the win with three innings on the mound. He gave up no hits, one unearned run, walked four and struck out four. Ty Bell pitched two innings giving up two hits, two runs (one earned), walking one, and striking out one.
The win improved Solon to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the WaMaC East as Central DeWitt dropped to 0-2 overall and had yet to begin conference play in the Mississippi Athletic Conference.
