ADEL — Solon’s varsity girls finished eighth at the 2022 Class 3A Girls State Golf Tournament held Thursday and Friday, May 26 and 27 at the River Valley Golf Course in Adel. The ladies finished second in their regional competition on May 18 and made their first State Meet appearance since 1998.
Clear Lake won the tournament with 713 followed by Gilbert (716), Dubuque Wahlert Catholic (750), Lisbon (785), West Delaware (799), Washington (805), Humboldt (828), Solon (832), Sioux Center (835), and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn (881).
Newton’s Rylee Heryford won the individual title on the third playoff hole with 149 and Gilbert’s Eden Lohrbach was the runner-up with 149.
Taylor Dee led Solon with 200, good for 33rd place. Camryn Keith was 36th with 205, Lilly Houtakker tied with Lisbon’s Eryn Jackson for 37th with 206. Peyton Pentico tied for 54th with Fairfield’s Myah Twohill and Humboldt’s Noelle Hamand with 221 while Rylie Greazel was 61st with 227 and Izzy Messenger was 73rd with 250.
