HIAWATHA — Solon’s Trapshooting team came up just a little short of a win Saturday, May 14 in the Jefferson J-Hawk’s Open 100 meet at the Otter Creek Sportsman’s Club as champion Bettendorf topped them 478-473 for second place.
Landon Hummel ended the day in a three-way tie for first place with 99/100 while Cole Birky shot 97 for eighth place. Rounding out the varsity squad were Ian Ressler (95), Jack Howsare (94), and Ryan Bilskie (88).
Ethan Ressler led the JV squad with 93/100 followed by Ryder Laing (81), Aaron Greco (76), and Carter Moen (63).
The final meet of the spring season will be held this weekend in Potosi, WI Ahead of the Iowa State High School Meet in June.
