FORT MADISON — The varsity boys won their 3A Sectional meet Wednesday, May 11 at the Sheaffer Memorial Golf Park. Solon topped the eight-team field with 293 followed by Washington (325), Clear Creek Amana (329), Mount Pleasant (330), Fairfield (350), Fort Madison (351), Burlington Notre Dame (357), and Keokuk (377).
Mac McCarty won the individual title with 71, Isaiah Zoske was fourth with 73, Jack McCarty finished fifth with 74, Frank Haege Jr was sixth with 75, Nathan Miller shot 82 for eighth, and Brennan Heesch carded 83 for tenth place on the leaderboard.
The 3A District (state qualifying) meet was held Monday, May 16 at the Wildcat Golf Course hosted by Vinton-Shellsburg. The Spartans advanced to the District meet with Mac McCarty advancing individually as well.
