SOLON — The varsity girls golf team finished third in the 2022 WaMaC Conference Super Meet held Monday, May 9 at Saddleback, the Lady Spartans’ home course.
West Delaware won the team title with 373 followed by Williamsburg (382), Solon (392), Beckman Catholic (394), Marion (415), Clear Creek Amana (417), Vinton-Shellsburg (424), Center Point-Urbana (425), Benton Community (427), South Tama (459), Independence (465), and Maquoketa (513).
Camryn Keith led Solon with 93 (46-47), good for sixth place on the leaderboard. Lilly Houtakker shot 98 (47-51), Taylor Dee had 99 (43-56), Rylie Greazel shot 102 (52-50), Peyton Pentico carded 104 (52-52), and Izzy Messenger finished the 18 holes with 115 (57-58).
Regional competition, with a trip to the State Tournament on the line, was held on Wednesday, May 18 at the Brown Deer Golf Course in Coralville. Full results will be in next week’s issue of the Solon Economist on May 26, which is also the date for the Class 3A State Tournament at the River Valley Golf Course in Adel.
