Due to popular demand, a second screening of the independent film “East of Middle West” was added at FilmScene, in Iowa City.
The movie, shot in and around Solon in 2019, tells the story of a teenage runaway Chris (Carson MacCormac), a widowed father Denny (Joris Jarsky) and a con artist Bill (Scott McCord), whose fates collide after a tragic accident causing each to take matters into their own hands to redeem their dark pasts.
Sam’s Mainstreet Market and the Solon Community Center were locations in Solon used during the filming.
Originally, one showing was scheduled at FilmScene Iowa, located in The Chauncey Building, located at 404 East College Street, in Iowa City, on Sunday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. A red carpet event precedes the screening. The additional screening is scheduled for Saturday, April 2, at 4 p.m.
