A pair of Solon freshmen made names for themselves on the City High Little Hawks’ varsity boys bowling team this season.
Carson Reid qualified for the State Individual Tournament, held Monday, Feb. 21, at Maple Lanes, in Waterloo. Reid finished 25th out of the 32, qualifying with a three-game series of 183, 232 and 182 for a 597 total.
Reid’s efforts garnered him a spot on the Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC) Mississippi Division’s Second Team with City High teammate Nile Franz. Solon freshman Brady Evers and City’s Zach Russell received All-Division Honorable Mention.
“Carson and Brady are both unique in that they are freshmen, really good friends and both bowl two handed. Both bowled varsity all season long and both have tons of potential moving forward,” said Coach Mike Degner. “I think both have the possibility to make state individually in the years to come and as a team. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for these two young men.”
