At the WaMaC Girls Wrestling Tournament Jan. 29 at Solon, two Spartans claimed first place.
Kara VeDepo at 102 and Cheyenne Mulford at 122 topped the podium, while five others reached steps on it.
VeDepo got her title with two byes. Mulford began with a bye, then built a major decision over Williamsburg’s Shannon Finn (12-2), pinned CCA’s Teagan Schreiber (1:34) and won the title with a fall over CCA’s Emma Mathis (3:19).
Taking second was Safina Yermetova at 117, with a bye and a fall over Vinton-Shellsburg’s Olivia Primrose (1:00) before she lost a 6-4 decision to CCA’s Emma Descourouez.
Thirds went to Olivia Bonnema at 132 with a record of 1-2 and Addison Burden at 137 and 3-1.
Emilee Suchomel took fifth at 172 as did Eleanor Gnida at 137, both with records of 2-2.
