Keeping watch for Santa – Carley watches for any sign of the big yellow and white fire engine carrying Santa Claus.
SOLON — A Christmas tradition returned to Solon Dec. 18 as Santa Claus visited with children at the American Legion Stinocher Post 460.
Eager kids and their parents lined the sidewalk in front of the Legion as Mr. Kringle arrived aboard a yellow and white fire engine. Once inside the Jolly Old Elf posed for pictures and listened to the kids’ Christmas wishes.
Visits from Santa had been a long-standing tradition at the Legion with many members recalling their childhood memories. After an absence of several years, the Legion resumed Santa’s visit in 2019. The pandemic forced the cancellation of the event last year.
