SOLON — Five Solon High School varsity baseball players were recently recognized by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) in its Class 3A All-District Teams.
Kinnick Pusteoska, a junior, was named to the Southeast District First Team as a first baseman with a .423 batting average. Blake Timmons, a sophomore, was a First Team pick for second base with a .439 average.
Three seniors, Drew Turner, Ben Cusick, and Brady Jeworrek were Second Team picks. Turner was named as a pitcher with a 4-2 record, Cusick was named as an outfielder with a .386 batting average, and Jeworrek as a utility player hitting .328.
The Spartans finished the 2021 season at 29-12 overall and 20-4 in the WaMaC East, second to Marion, which finished at 22-2 in the division and 37-6 overall on their way to a state championship.
