The Iowa Commission of Latino Affairs and the Iowa Department of Human Rights announce 2021 Iowa Latino Hall of Fame Honorees
Juan Manuel Galvez Ibarra, from México, of North Liberty, received the Robert D. Ray Award for Equity and Justice.
The Iowa Latino Hall of Fame was established by the Iowa Commission of Latino Affairs to recognize, honor and celebrate the efforts of outstanding Latino leaders. The Iowa Latino Hall of Fame ceremony is held during National Latino and Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, celebrating and honoring the contributions made by Latinos and Hispanics in the United States.
Jaun Manuel Galvez Ibarra, along with five other Iowans, will be inducted into the Iowa Latino Hall of Fame Oct. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Des Moines Art Center.
