Mayor Steve Stange called to order the special City Council meeting at 5:30 pm. Roll Call: John Farlinger, Lynn Morris and Dan O’Neil. Remotely: Steve Duncan and Lauren Whitehead.Also Present: City Administrator Cami Rasmussen, City Attorney Kevin Olson, Attorney Jim Martinek, Attorney Mike Pitton, City Engineer Dave Schechinger, City Clerk Susie Siddell and Remotely Scott Kleppe.
Motion by O’Neil to approve the agenda. Seconded by Whitehead. All Ayes. Motion Carried. 5-0.
New Business:
Resolution No. 21-23 Old Mill Creek Part 4 Final Plat. Council Discussion and Possible Action on Resolution No. 21-23, a Resolution approving Old Mill Creek Part 4 Final Plat: Rasmussen stated this has been reviewed by herself, Kleppe and Schechinger. The subdividers agreement has been submitted and reviewed, there is a punch list which Cory Hodapp will submit an escrow in the amount of $32,050.00. Motion by Morris to approve Old Mill Creek Part 4 Final Plat with having a remaining punch list and CJ Construction submitting an escrow amount of $32,050.00. Seconded by Duncan. Roll Call Vote: Duncan, Farlinger, Morris, O’Neil and Whitehead. All Ayes. Motion Carried. 5-0.
Closed Session:
Motion by Duncan to go into closed session pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 21.5 1 © to discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position of the governmental body in that litigation and pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 21.5 (j) allowing for closed session regarding a real estate transaction. Seconded by Whitehead. Roll Call Vote: Duncan, Farlinger, Morris, O’Neil and Whitehead. All Ayes. Motion Carried. 5-0.
Motion by O’Neil to go out of closed session. Seconded by Whitehead. Roll Call Vote: Duncan, Farlinger, Morris, O’Neil and Whitehead. All Ayes. Motion Carried. 5-0.
Motion by Morris to adjourn meeting at 6:23 pm. Seconded by O’Neil. All Ayes. Motion Carried. 5-0.

FIRE HOUSE PROJECT
SOLON, IOWA
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT, ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION, SET BID OPENING DATE AND BID AWARD DATE FOR THE SOLON FIRE HOUSE PROJECT, CITY OF SOLON, IOWA
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Solon, Iowa will meet in the Council Chambers at the City Hall, 101 North Iowa Street, Solon, Iowa, on the 19TH day of May, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. at which time a hearing will be held and said Council proposes to adopt plans, specifications, form of contract, estimate of cost for the construction, set bid opening date and bid award date for the Solon Fire House Project for said City.
SOLON FIRE HOUSE PROJECT
Provide all labor, equipment and materials necessary to construct a new fire station designed as a brick and metal panel clad wood-framed building with pre-engineered metal building apparatus bay with metal wall and roof panels. The building shall have a concrete slab-on-grade. The building shall be fully sprinklered throughout. The building shall be single-story and 14,960 SF base bid, 17,210 SF with alternates.
At said hearing, the Council will consider said plans and specifications, proposed form of contract, the estimate of cost for the project, and set the date for the bid opening and bid award with the same now being on file in the office of the Clerk, reference to which is made for a more detailed and complete description of the proposed work, and at said time and place the said Council will also receive and consider any objections to said plans, specifications and form of contract or cost of such project made by any interested party.
