IOWA CITY– The Johnson County Board of Supervisors appointed David Curtis to serve as Facilities Director, effective Wednesday, April 28. Curtis replaces Eldon Slaughter, who served as facilities manager for nearly nine years.
“A number of extremely qualified candidates applied for this position, and we had a long and careful evaluation of the candidates,” Pat Heiden, chairperson of the board of supervisors, said. “David stood out in all areas that were considered and deemed important for this position. We’re very pleased that he accepted the position and look forward to him becoming a part of the Johnson County team.”
Curtis has more than 20 years of experience in facilities, equipment and project management. He most recently worked as the director of buildings and grounds for Educational Service Unit #3 in La Vista, Neb., with responsibilities including overseeing plant operations, custodial services, maintenance, grounds and landscaping, and security and safety.
