IOWA CITY- Mother Nature is not always the friend of clubs and organizations hosting outdoor events, as was evidenced Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Iowa City Aerohawks’ field next to the Iowa City Landfill. Winds of 20-25 mph from the east created a dangerous crosswind across the main runway, leading to about half of the scheduled events for the Aerohawks’ annual radio-controlled airplane show to be scrubbed. The members still managed to fill three hours with a variety of flying exhibitions.
