Spooky shenanigans

NORTH LIBERTY– For two evenings, part of the North Liberty Recreation Center was turned into a hall of Halloween havoc as the City of North Liberty and the North Liberty Optimist Club sponsored their annual Haunted Happenings. Families took part in a variety of Halloween-themed games and activities on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 24 and 25.
Set up for the event started on Monday, Oct. 21, and wrapped up at 5 p.m. on Thursday, an hour-and-a-half before the doors opened. Between 300-500 kids and their parents/grandparents/guardians were expected each night.
For those who had a photo taken by the City Communication Department’s crack photographer, the pics were posted on the North Liberty City Government Facebook page.
As a reminder, Trick or Treating is from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. The North Liberty Fire Department is welcoming trick or treaters at the fire station on Cherry Street with candy, cookies and cocoa.
