Solon school audit released

SOLON– Nolte, Cornman and Johnson P.C. today released an audit report on the Solon Community School District in Solon, Iowa.
The district’s revenues totaled $19,582,705 for the year ended June 30, 2016, a 6.66 percent increase from the prior year.
Revenues included property tax of $6,359,889, income surtax of $615,496, statewide sales, services and use tax of $1,233.922, charges for service of $2,865,573, unrestricted state grants of $6,916,991, operating grants, contributions, and restricted interest of $1,362,972, nonspecific federal program grants of $96,792, unrestricted interest of $52,180 and other general revenues of $78,890.
Expenses for district operations totaled $18,272,088, a 12.85 percent increase from the prior year. Expenses included $7,309,978 for regular instruction, $1,727,442 for special instruction and $1,673,386 for administration.
