SIS celebrates with Flipped Parade

SOLON– This was the way school ended in 2020.
Solon Intermediate School (SIS) hosted a Flipped Parade Friday, May 29, to say farewell to some students and to say a socially-distant hello to others.
Teachers and staff holding signs lined the rear parking lot of the school and a parade of vehicles carrying students and families rolled slowly through.
“We were thankful for the great weather and smiling faces,” noted SIS Principal Jessica Tabor. “It was a great opportunity for the SIS family to come together and see each other face to face before heading off to summer break. We missed our students and each other very much over these past few months.
“The reverse parade was our way of connecting with our students and families one last time this school year,” she added.
SIS staff wished their fifth-grade students the best of luck as they transition to the middle school and welcomed incoming fourth graders who will be transitioning to SIS from Lakeview.
“I loved seeing all the signs and flowers that students shared with our teachers and staff,” Tabor said.
She credited SIS Associate Shanna Schmidt for creating signs for every staff member present at the parade.
“I couldn't be prouder of the love, support, and dedication that comes from our small building,” Tabor added.
