North Liberty public building closures extended, programming modified

NORTH LIBERTY– North Liberty's public facilities, including city hall and the community center, currently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will remain closed, and registration for summer programs will be postponed, indefinitely.
Through the closure, city staff will continue to offer no-contact services such as phone support and Library Hop checkout, digital services including movies and books, and other modified programming provided remotely, delivered digitally, or held asynchronously.
Recsters Summer Camp, scheduled to start in June, will be held with space, procedures and programming modified to comply to public health guidance.
The library’s Summer Reading Program will be held with programming delivered remotely. Materials will be printed for pickup or mailed on request to participants who may not have Internet access.
The outdoor pool, indoor pool, play structures and splash pad will remain closed to the public.
City ball fields will be closed to practices and tournaments through June.
The city continues to assess the safety and responsibility of a phased re-opening the Community Center for other programs as public health guidance, the status of COVID-19 in Iowa and Johnson County, and physical space responsibly allows. Announcements will be made on the city’s websites and social media pages.
