Jazzy jack-o-lanterns

Summer, Quincy, Keenan and A’zyan Jagnow put the finishing touches on their jack-o-lanterns, during the pumpkin decorating event held at the North Liberty Recreation Center Saturday, Oct. 18. NORTH LIBERTY- Smiling Jack ‘o’ Lanterns, ghosts, and even a minion from “Despicable Me” all made an unexpected appearance at the North Liberty Recreation Center last weekend.
With the help of some paint and glitter, kids were able to decorate their very own pumpkins the morning of Saturday, Oct. 18.
The event, hosted by the North Liberty Recreation Department, was one of several Halloween-themed events this month. Haunted Happenings is the next, taking place Oct. 23 and Oct. 24. Kids can dress up and participate in carnival games, get lost in a haunted maze, and have their fill of candy and other treats.
In addition to these themed events, the recreation center also puts on other activities throughout the year for children. Past programs have included cooking classes, a kickball league, and arts and craft classes.
