Five Creek Girls earn WaMaC volleyball honors

Bunch and Clubb are unanimous 1st Team West Division picks

TIFFIN– Five Clear Creek Amana (CCA) varsity volleyball players have received WaMaC All-Conference honors.
Cheyaenne Bunch, Calia Clubb, Hailey Pollock, Emily Sly and Gabrielle Bedford were named to West Division teams for their efforts for the Clippers during the regular season. The WaMaC East and West lists were released on Thursday, Oct. 24.
Bunch and Clubb were unanimous selections to the First Team, Pollock was a Second Team pick, while Sly and Bedford received WaMaC Recognition (formerly Honorable Mention).
Benton Community’s Abby Brunssen, a senior, was named the West Division Player of the Year. Independence, the Clippers and Center Point-Urbana were in a three-way tie in the West Division with 5-1 conference records. Indee went 27-11 overall however, while the Creek Girls were 23-14, and the Stormin’ Pointers went 22-17.
West Delaware’s Macey Kleitsch was named the East Division Athlete of the Year. The Hawks won the East Division outright with a 6-0-conference record and 37-5 overall record.
The Clippers entered the postseason with a No. 14-ranking in Class 4A in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union’s final rankings of the 2019 season, which were released on Monday, Oct. 21.

First Team — Cheyaenne Bunch, Calia Clubb.
Bunch — A senior, Bunch made 764 assists in 92 sets with 200 digs, 21 block assists and one solo block. She produced 24 kills and 42 ace serves.
Clubb — A sophomore, Clubb led the Creek Girls with 332 kills in 92 sets. She produced 47 ace serves, made 24 assists, 264 digs, 15 block assists and two solo blocks.
Second Team — Hailey Pollock.
Pollock — A junior, Pollock made 87 kills in 87 sets, and came up with 26 ace serves. She made seven assists, 65 digs, 49 block assists and 14 solo blocks.
WaMaC Recognition — Emily Sly, Gabrielle Bedford.
Sly — A junior, Sly made 45 kills in 84 sets, had 31 block assists and seven solo blocks.
Bedford — A junior, Bedford produced seven kills in 92 sets and had 29 ace serves for the Clippers. She produced 16 assists, 229 digs and made three block assists.
