Creek Boys sweep the Bobcats, 3-0 and 10-3 Bollers gets a pair of homers against Benton Community

TIFFIN The Clear Creek Amana varsity baseball team swept the Benton Community Bobcats off the diamond Tuesday, June 23, at home. The Clippers took game one, 3-0, and shelled the Cats, 10-0, in the nightcap, boosted by a pair of home runs from TJ Bollers.
Parker Smith knocked a double in game one, while Grant Jensen had a pair of singles and drove in one run. Brock Reade, Bollers, Ben Swails, Casey Ogden and Cade Armstrong hit one each with an RBI for Reade. Ogden went the distance for the Creek Boys striking out two and giving up four hits.
Benton plated a runner in the top of the first inning in game two, but the Clippers answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning, and scored three more runs in the second for a 5-1 lead. The Cats added one run in the third and fourth, with the Clippers scoring one in the third and putting three men across home plate in the fifth, and one in the sixth for the 10-3 win.
Bollers pair of dingers was good for four RBI in the contest as part of a 3-3 performance at the plate. Smith hammered a three-run homer, as well, while Jensen and Tyler Schrepfer recorded a pair of singles each. Sam Young drove in two runs with Ogden bringing in one runner.
Schrepfer went the distance on the mound, giving up six hits and three runs.
The win floated the Boats to the top of the WaMaC West standings at 5-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play, while the Bobcats dipped to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in the conference.
