TIFFIN– Homecoming at Clear Creek Amana (CCA) High School looks very different this year due to concerns and considerations related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with the traditional parade and dance indefinitely postponed in the name of safety.
Also, instead of the traditional coronation event for the King and Queen, a simple ceremony was held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, and live-streamed to the CCA community (after this edition’s deadline). Contenders for the honor were named on Friday, Sept. 25, with Greta Downes, Emma Schmidt, Abigale Stevens, Morgan Malli, Gabrielle Bedford and Grace Bedford vying for Queen; while Christian Withrow, TJ Bollers, Ryan Navara, Brock Reade, Alex Figueroa Cautino and Brandon Barker were in the running for King.
The Clippers will take on Oskaloosa in the Homecoming Game on Friday, Oct. 2, with the freshmen taking the field at 5 p.m., and the varsity kicking off around 7:30 p.m.
