Drake Relay Results
The highlight of the weekend was a second place finish by Connor Ham in the 110-meter high hurdles. Connor won his preliminary heat and qualified for the finals with the third-fastest time. In the final, he was edged by last year’s 4A state champion, placing second overall, and defeating the defending class 3A champion in the process.
Junior shot putter Dalton Ferguson had a good day as well, throwing his personal best at 53’10, placing seventh in that event.
The 4x100 relay (Jacob Black, Jordan Wymer, Ham, Jonah Kuntz) and 4x200 ( Black, Wymer, Riley Takes, Kuntz) also ran well, but failed to place.
This week the team will tune up for Thursday’s WaMaC conference meet to be held at Marion with an earlier meet, also held at Marion, on Monday.
